What I have discovered
My hypothesis is that by introducing programs to educte and advocate for a garden revolution in Rosengård it will be possible to deal with the problem of parallell societies, domestic temporality and the identity of education -all of them key issues that I discovered through reading the novel of Mustafa Can in #2 Imbedded Information.
The knowledge and need for food production is a universal concept and therefore well suitable for the situation in Rosengård which has been mentioned as dispersed and diverse.
Knowledge about gardening and food production is one of many hidden competences who has traveled a long way to Rosengård. According to the discussion of today and to my point of departure a revelation of this rhizom of knowledges could be something that Rosengård could take advantage of to stand out as something different in a positive way.
I have many desires for Rosengård, and I believe that facilitating a garden program with suitable programs and their physical manifestation will introduce an energy dealing with many of these.
When I presented the task "Pionts of Departure" after returning from Paris I was on a track where exchange of knowledge -the hidden competences, and facilitating a structure fore that to happen was the main concern.
After the two weeks with crosscourse and DAV I realized that there was much potential left to discover in the forestgardening of Rosengård.
My attitude towards the project at this moment is to pursue the consequences of making Rosengård the starting point of a new Garden Movement.

A Sunny Day at Fredriksberg
The project Sunny Day at Fredriksberg is the result of the workshop with the artist group Publik from Copenhagen.
We have chosen to present our project in the interlinked medias Google Maps and Wikipedia. This way, our project both exists, is documented and archived at the same time, and is open for response from anyone coming across it. It is public in essence.
Through a series of evocative actions, we examine the hidden qualitative layers of the traffic junction in Fredriksberg, Malmö. The mono-programmatic appearance of the site is questioned by occupying it with everyday activity unfamiliar to it. The actions, documented in photos and film, form a loose narrative of a day trip to the site and are to be found in Google maps and Youtube.
The material will appear in Google maps in a few days time due to a delay in the system. We will then remind you to browse the photos there.

Points of Departure
Rosengård has triggered me with its apparently lacking plateu of bridging contact/understanding/tolerance/interest to the rest of Malmö. Bridging/building this plateu is subject of interest under the City of Biotope umbrella.

I have already introduced the Forestgarden to Rosengård, and I will keep this concept as prior to to the Point of Departure. As the dynamics within an ecosystem such as a Forest Garden work, I want to increase the capacity of social end environmental carachter in Rosengård by strengthening the interaction between the inhabitants. This cooperation includes the relationships between the people, buildings and environment. Competence and qualification is the nutrience that flows in this system.
On a global basis, the energy that we spend today is equvivalent to 22 billion slaves working around the clock. The planet earth needs to regain its flexibility.In the Öresund region Skåne appears to be all about fertile soil, but the truth is that plowing, the use of chemical fertilizers and the drainage of ecological buffers -the ponds, is depleting Malmö,s fileds and causing big damage to the aquatic biotopes.
A Forestgarden has the obvious effects of regaining the balance og local ecosystems, but there are multiple determinations putting weight to the load of a Forest Garden.
:: It creates a variety of good places to be.
:: It is good for wildlife
:: It provides jobs.
:: It requires education.
:: It helps people connect with nature.
:: To grow food goes beyond culture.
:: Green environments give better phsycological health and improves the ability to concentrate.
There are several principles in a forest garden that is transferable to the situation i Rosengård.
:: Resilience is the uttermost advantage of a forest garden. This is created by diversity. The diversity is mutually dependent on the soil quality.
:: A forest garden works because there is so much nutrient sycling going on: A multiplicity of rootsystems are occupying the soil and a multiplicity of aerial systems is occupying the air.
The project further will be on revealing the Hidden Competences in Rosengård and thus strengthen the nutririon sycling. This operation includes to evaluate the relationship between people, buildings and environment.

Seeing Malmö through the eyes of another
The novel "Tett inntil dagene" ("Close to the days") by Mustafa Can is the setting throug which I have been looking into Malmö. The conversation in the studio and with the other students works as references led me onto an unexpected track of investigation.
Tove Helen introduced us to a team of reaearchers' report on Rosengård. The newspaper articles Tove pointed to was referring to a report from Forsvarshögskolan i Sverige. That report states that developments of parallell societies is a challenge to the Swedish multicultural society.
It was after reading this report that I became interested in how the womens' role can be interpreted and changed to diminish the development of parallell societies. A reference to Miia-Liinas work on the Rhizom structure about conversation and thought as a platou in the city is also relevant in describing my interest in looking upon the woman as a key to change.

This is a phrase from the anthropologist Gregory Bateson who you may meet as a reference in our master studio.
This expression can be interpreted in such a way as every architect, every taxi driver, every kid now knows that global challenges has to be met with full innovative force on every local level, including the smallest biotope. Its an awareness in the air. This involves rethinking, research and new kinds of explorations in the urban field, thus conceived as both built up structures and the landscape. The city is under pressure and has to be redefined continuosly.
Yesterday we read and article by the researcher Maria Hellström, SLU/Alnarp/Malmø, titled The deverging common (Den avvikende allmenning) where she discusses Christiania in Copenhagen as representative of the urban non-ownership as a creative disturbance.
An eye and an ear to deviations, divergence and that you me see as important undercurants should inform our studio and enter the blog.
When the studio is going to explore change as opposed to limitless growth this joint blog for you students, us teachers and invited guests can bee conceived as a library, a library of change. This library of change is then formed by the participants and will act as a common Idea Universe, with a reference too the mosaic reading.
So the moral of this blog is to launch your findings here. The expression visualising change can be fine to have in mind. We look forward to meet you on the blog and in Bergen.
