After watching the film “ A Farm for the Future “, it struck me, that nature is the best model for sustainable living. In the film this was shown through the woodland, with its fertile soil, biodiversity and circles of energy/carbon. Patrick Whitefield, a permaculture expert in the film, claimed: “we have got to take the principal of this (the forest), and bend it into something more edible.”
Nature already has the perfect sustainable system, and for us humans she is a learning book on how to solve our environmental problems. If we imitate nature, we can learn to live with nature, and not in spite of nature.
In witch areas of life does this apply? How can we learn from nature, and how can we bend the principals of nature in order to live in a more sustainable manner?
