The concepts of pounds, and wetland protection zone.
The concept of pounds in this context, a permanent body of water that is created with the aim to purify the incoming water and to be beneficial to plants, animals and humans. The typical pond is flat slope gradients and irregular shape, which is aligned with the landscape. The depth can vary between one and three meters and the surface is usually about 0.3 to five hectares. With wetland means shallower water areas where water normally does not exceed that can take over the field with boots. At low tide the water level may lie just below ground level. Over Water Vegetation plays a prominent role in the wetland. Wetlands are typically in the pond edge zones, which means that the pond and wetland habitats are often changed into one another.
Protection zones are built only on farmland adjacent to open water bodies and aims to act as a buffer between the arable land, and the open watercourse. The protection zone is normally a permanent elevation, which in some cases supplemented with trees and shrubs. Fertilization or spraying may not be on the protection zone. The width of the zone is now generally six meters, as this is the minimum width for obtaining the EU's environmental aid for the action.
