mapping the interior space of travel

Mapping Paris London

The mapping above tries to capture how three parameters act together; space, time and intensity. During the travel from Duroc Paris to St. Pancras London, I was never outside. The interior spaces of metros, stations and trains followed me for 4 hours and 450 km. While space and time are shown as objective measures, intensity refers to my own subjective feeling when traveling. In this way the title refers to inferiority at two levels.

The mapping of travel acts as a flying start for my upcoming work, a literal Point of departure. The next move in my Malmø investigations will be towards transport related infrastructure
